CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 800th CUSTOMER!
28/11/2008

Today marked a milestone in the history of the company and a very special occasion for a young couple. Darren Hunt and Carrie Naismith move in to their first home together, little did they know that their two bedroom home would make them the 800th customer for Hope Homes. The occasion is all the more special as Carrie has worked in the company head office for 7 years, and both her parents have also been long serving employees.

Darren and Carrie received their keys from company director Anne Hope, who also presented them with a stunning floral arrangement, a bottle of champagne and a voucher for dinner for two at Costley and Costley Hotels.

HOPE TAKES IT TO HART!
31/10/2008

The annual Hart Trophy Bonspiel was played at Ayr Ice Rink on Thursday 30th October, by ladies whose clubs regularly play on the ice at Ayr. 6 rinks of very fit ladies braved the frosty early start just after 9am and the play continued throughout the day until the winners emerged triumphant around 4.30pm. The presentation of prizes donated by Hope Homes Scotland then followed.

Our photograph shows Janice McKellar, Senior Sales Adviser and Marketing Assistant presenting the Hart Trophy Salver to the winning rink - Morag Evans, Suzanne Howie, Elizabeth Shaw, and Liz Connell. Each lady also received a coveted "Radley" purse donated by Hope Homes, as a memento of the occasion.

Playtime at Drongan Primary School
17/06/2008

Such has been the appeal of the playground seating that we fitted at Drongan Primary School in January, our services were called upon again for this latest addition.

Johnnie the Shunter in the infant playground of the school has been very popular with all the children and as such, the Community Association provided the school with further funds to purchase a 'carriage' bench to keep Johnnie company.

When asked if we would again assist with the installation of the new carriage, we couldn't say no!

Anyone passing through the school grounds will no doubt agree that Johnnie seems much happier with his new friend and all the children are enjoying the addition.

The carriage has been added to the benches already installed by Hope Homes Scotland. These were purchased by the PTFA using funds obtained through a Minerals Trust Grant and a donation by the Community Association.

Pictured are Johnnie and his new carriage, along with some big kids, Alison Duncan and Ian & Anne Hope of Hope Homes Scotland with representatives of both the school PTFA and the Community Association.

NEW HOME FOR HANSEL NOW COMPLETED
07/03/2008

The Hansel Foundation is a charity which helps people with disabilities to have a future that is interesting, meaningful and fulfilling. They help service users to find work, build their own social lives and plan for their own futures. They support people where, when and how they need it.

Some service users live in small scale accommodation in locations throughout Ayrshire. However, some people are better served by living at Hansel's main location - their familiar Broadmeadows site close to Symington. With this in mind, Hope Homes Scotland entered into a joint initiative with the Hansel Foundation, private trusts (including the Moffat Charitable Trust) and North Ayrshire Council to design and construct a brand new residential facility.

The 300 square metre house has now been completed and it is anticipated the residents shall move into their new home within the next month.

Each of the residents shall have their own spacious, specifically designed bedroom and access to a large, light and airy lounge/kitchen which will allow residents to enjoy time together, as well as with visitors, including their own families. A small fifth bedroom ensures a family member can stay over, if required. There is also a sensory room where residents can enjoy activities that make life more satisfying and interesting.

We employed local architects, Robert Potters & Partners to work along with Hansel and ourselves to come up with a unique, innovative design that would be an asset to the Hansel Broadmeadows site.

We hope that Hope Homes' support will make a difference to the lives of people who need help to be able to live a meaningful life.
