Hope Homes project wins major award.
09/07/2010
Scotland's top social service projects are recognised each year at the Care Accolades awards ceremony which is hosted by the Scottish Social Services Council.
This year's ceremony was held at Aviemore Highland Resort and was compered by TV and radio broadcaster Kaye Adams.
The Meadowview facility, built by Hope Homes at Hansel Foundation's Broadmeadow site, won a major award. The judges were impressed with how the services provided within the facility are personalised to suit the needs of the young adults who live there. All the residents have multiple learning disabilities and complex health needs.
Hope Homes are keen supporters of all that Hansel does and wish to thank not only them, but North Ayrshire Council, the local Community Learning and Disability Team, Robert Potter and partners (architectural practice which designed Meadowview) and the very supportive families of the residents - Robbie, Martin and Wendy and Emma.
Meadowview is an excellent exaple of what can be achieved when several organisations work in harmony.
Congratulations to everyone involved on what is a fantastic achievement.
Housing and Communities Minister visits Hope Homes Tarbolton development.
07/07/2010
Alex Neil, Scotland’s Minister for Housing and Communities, visited Burns View, Tarbolton on Monday 5th July 2010.
Hope Homes are building 126 homes for sale at Burns View, with an additional 30 for Ayrshire Housing Association. The company has a longstanding relationship with Ayrshire Housing in terms of affordable housing. Projects have already been completed at Maybole and Dalrymple. Beyond Tarbolton, further partnerships are planned in Ayr, as part of a wider regeneration initiative, and Fisherton.
Mr Neil commented that he had long recognised the quality of the work done by both companies and added:
“I’m pleased that the government has been able to use its support for the affordable element to complement Hope Homes’ own efforts to provide much needed new homes for sale in the village and with them, much needed local construction jobs.”
Hope Homes have built almost 900 new homes in Ayrshire over the last 20 years and, in so doing , have contributed greatly to the local economy and to housing choice in the area. The directors intend to continue this, and several new developments are in the pipeline.

Very GREENhouse !
30/04/2010
Ochiltree Primary School children are doing their bit for the environment.
The children, with the help of teachers and volunteer helpers from Prestwick based GE Caledonian, have recently constructed a greenhouse, made primarily from 2 litre, plastic, fizzy-drinks bottles!
Hope Homes donated the timber required to erect a 6ft x 4ft frame. The children collected approximately 1,500 empty bottles, these were then washed and the base cut off. The prepared bottles were threaded onto canes to create columns which were then fixed into the timber frame.
The finished greenhouse will now be used by the children to grow their own seeds and plants, in fact the first tatties are in the ground!
Everyone involved is rightly proud of their efforts.
Belles of the Ball!!
29/04/2010
Hope Homes recently sponsored Ayrshire Association of Young Farmers' Club Rally Queen Competition. The event was held in Stewarton on Saturday 10th April.
Competition was fierce and judges faced a difficult task, however the lucky ladies were; in 3rd place, Mary Howie of Crossroads, in second position, Alison Miller of Kilmaurs and claiming the Rally Queen crown was Elaine Watson of Mauchline.
Well done to all who participated!
St Patrick's Primary School, Auchinleck
26/03/2010
Gillian Steele of our Marketing Department was recently invited to visit the Primary 3/4 class at St Patrick's Primary School in Auchinleck to offer some help with their class topic 'Materials used to build a house'.
As you can see from the photos, the children were keen to take part and a good time was had by all.
Hope Homes Scotland Builds for the Future!
17/03/2010
Hope Homes Scotland played host to the Primary 7 classes from Drongan Primary School recently at their Burns View development in Tarbolton.
Pupils were able to view the sales centre and showhome as well as being able to try their hand at a few ‘on-site’ activities including brick laying, block paving, joinery and surveying. At the end of the visit, the children completed a quiz, demonstrating what they had learned on the day. Pictured is lucky winner, Craig Stobbs receiving his prize of a book token from Gillian Steele of Hope Homes Scotland.
The visit was arranged as part of the Education Industry Link that has been in place between Hope Homes Scotland and the Drongan Primary School for many years.
All at Hope Homes feel that the Education Industry Link and visits like these provide a valuable and positive learning tool. They are hopeful that in the not too distant future, they will see some familiar faces taking up apprenticeships in the building trade. This will not only result in helping to alleviate the national skills shortage but will provide useful and rewarding careers for those who take up the challenge!

WHAT A TRANSFORMATION!
15/09/2009
The Woodland Bay Hotel, just south of Girvan has been open for a few months now, and business is booming!
Hope Homes Scotland were delighted to be awarded the contract of ensuring that construction of this 16 suite hotel was completed on time for the British Open Golf Tournament that was held in mid July at nearby Turnberry. Even with the tight timescale involved in this project, we were able to deliver on time and on budget.
As you can see from these images, it was no small task however, the hardwork and effort by all our staff members was definitely worthwhile. More pictures of the finished article can be found in our new Gallery section.
All at Hope Homes Scotland would like to wish Gillian, Michael and all the Forbes family GOOD LUCK in their new venture at the Woodland Bay Hotel and Woodland Farm and look forward to working with them again in the future.
For further details of this beautiful hotel in this stunning location, why not check out their own website www.woodlandbayhotel.co.uk to find out more. You never know, you might even end up booking a room!

SHOWTIME!
20/05/2009
Hope Homes Scotland have long embraced a close working relationship with the farming community throughout Ayrshire. At this time of year, nowhere is this more evident than at the various cattle shows throughout the county.
Over the next few months there will be one, if not two, of these friendly community events each week. We aim to have some form of involvement with each - from Stranraer to Stewarton! This may be by sponsoring a class in competitions or simply a donation towards the general running of the show.
Recent weeks have seen our banners flying at Ochiltree, Kilmaurs and Dundonald to name but a few. Special mention must be made to the biggest of all the shows, Ayr County, which was all but washed out over the weekend of 9th&10th May. Our photograph posted here are evidence - should it be required!
Our connections with the local agricultural community are literally cemented with the many new homes built as private commissions on privately owned farmland. Indeed so popular is this, that we have produced a brochure featuring just a few of these new homes, which is available on request. Click here
HOME OF YOUR DREAMS
20/05/2009
The customised homes side of our business is an area showing very welcome growth. Over the past year we have been commissioned to build almost a dozen architecturally designed new homes on behalf of private clients. This is over and above our developments at Coylton and in the near future, Tarbolton. The customised homes contracts come from the agricultural community as well as other individuals. Typically this will be new build retiral home, a real treat to those having lived all their working days in a draughty old farmhouse! Director Anne Hope is a farmer’s daughter herself!
All enquiries are dealt with on an individual basis and will usually result in a site visit once we receive copies of plans. A quotation to build will be issued and the finishing touches can be discussed while perusing samples of kitchens, tiles, etc. in our bright and airy sales centre at Burns View, Tarbolton. Let us take some of the stress out of what is undoubtedly the biggest decision in most peoples’ lifetime.
If you are considering building your own home, register now for a copy of our brochure featuring samples of recently completed individual homes. Click here
